Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

An often under utilised area of veterinary ultrasound. In addition to using musculoskeletal ultrasound for scanning for tendon, ligament, and muscle injuries.

Common orthopedic applications include aid in analyzing joints ( meniscal damage, cruciate tears,  early degenerative changes).

Identifying miscellaneous sports-related soft-tissue problems, and ultrasound-guided injections; tapping of joint fluids as well as injections into joints; steroids and often regenerative medicine (stem-cell therapy and platelet-rich plasma).
