Ultrasound Guided Fine Needle Aspirates

These are often indicated and can provide relatively non invasive & useful information. In most instances, with appropriate prior signed consent, they can be obtained at the time of the initial ultrasound. They do not usually require coagulation profiles.

There may be instances where an ultrasound guided try-cut biopsy is required. These require prior planning with a coagulation profile and a platelet count on the day of the procedure and may require heavy sedation or general anaesthesia so will require scheduling directly with us.
